Equestria has changed. No longer needing harmony, and embarrassing industry. The ponies have turned on Harmony and all who embody it. No one saw it happen. Their beloved Little Ponies betrayed them. Celestia, who so loved her subjects was the first to go from one she never expected. Cadence was next, Shining had ambitions higher than being a meer prince and husband to a princess. So when he was offered a chance to join THEM he gladly accepted. Making an unlikely alliance he set a coup in motion that would make him King of the Crystal Empire. Luna suspected something was amiss but by then it was too late, THEY were already to strong. With the last of her strength she sent a warning to Twilight the Princess of Frindship.
With the aid and bravery of her friends she escaped. But now she is a hunted mare, an outlaw. She swears vengeance on THEM and promices to one day restore Equestria to Harmony but for now. She must hide.
But she is not alone, there are those who will stand and fight. Fight for a world better the THEY envisioned, a world of peace and Prosperity. The dieing words of Luna echos on
"In you I believe Celestia found a succesor. Not because you were the strongest pony, but because of your capacity to GAIN strength when your friends needed it most. Your wise beyond your years Twilight, believe in yourself and the lessons my sister have taught you. Don't forget who you are...you are Princess Twilight Sparkle, a light in the darkness, a hope of a new beginning, and Princess of Friendship!"
Thus begain "Harmony Wars

The pony sat quietly on the throne of crystal, a throne that had once belonged to the Princess of Friendship. He was lounging, head resting on one hoof. He was playing with seven marbles, floating in front of him. Each with different color. Each creates a different sound when two knock with each other. But his focus was the round table in front of him. On the table was a ghostly landscape of the entire land of Equestria. Reshaped. Scarred. Changed all according to his will and command.
He descended from his throne and studies the map. He drops all the marbles and they moved on their own to specific locations. A deep purple rested on Ponyville. A milky white on Canterlot, her spires broken. The onyx black on the Crystal Empire, corrupted to mimic its color. A golden one on the burning Manehatten. An emerald green on the Everfree Forest. A sky blue on Cloudsdale. And a red one on Appleloosa.
He smiled, sharp teeth showing as he looks at the land. "You can't hide forever, princess. I will find you... Sooner or later..."
It's been a decade and Equestria has changed beyond all recognition. The pleasant, quaint atmosphere that was characteristic of the land is gone. The tenents of friendship and harmony extinguished.
Instead the all mighty "bit" rules. Ponies live and breath to assume ever increasing amounts of power. Be it through money, magic, or influence.
But their was one unequivocal authority in the land It was the power of THEM THEY didn't rule in the usual ways, like political positions. But THEY didn't need to. They were above the law, above morality. What they said, what they decreed was as sure a thing as the sunrise. Their flag dominated Equestria with an iron fist.
The shift of power had shifted in Equestria Griffens and Dragons were ever more prevalent. THEY said that it was to allow for easier trade and more diversity. Yet, the only positions they ever received were those of the soldier, the body guard, sometimes the mercenary. Ponies, Griffins, and Dragons patrolled the streets. Wearing the armor and masks so generously donated by THEM.
Somewhere in this land one pony remembers a different time, a kinder time. She weeps for this generation, the generation so enveloped in greed. So enveloped that they cannot even see the treasures in front of them.
She is assamed to admit it but she has become a recluse in the past few years, She chuckles, that is exactly what her mentor had tried to prevent.
Then something miraculous happened. She came across a young filly. And the filly was sprawling the old...no the TRUE equestrian flag on a wall This little filly who didn't even have her cutie mark yet Believed in a better Equestria, and in her own way fighting back!
Well they are mortal since they never were alicorns in the first place. She's just a regular unicorn who now has wings unjustly, but as I said before, they still age, as you can see in flashbacks and such. Only way Twilight can outlive anyone is by casting an immortality spell, but even they won't go that far.
Loving the stylistic flow and curves to her. Very eye catching stance. Twilight seems so graceful, drawn as long legged and flowing, yet looks quite solid and powerful as well. I think the wings really add to that effect. Great effect with the Luna-esque tail and mane!
When the last moon is cast over the last star of morning And the future has passed without even a last desperate warning Then look into the sky where through the clouds a path is torn Look and see her how she sparkles, it's the last alicorn
